My interest in pedagogical recommender systems led me to a website called merlot.org. The website description at the top reads, “The MERLOT system provides access to curated online learning and support materials and content creation tools, led by an international community of educators, learners and researchers” (Merlot, n.d.). I love the resources and shared knowledge within this database. I have recently signed up to be a volunteer peer reviewer on the Teacher Education community.
I’ve written before about how different technologies have emerged because of learning and the scientific community. The world wide web was invented to meet the demands for information sharing among scientists in different universities around the world (Harasim, 2017). And while the web is now used for other things like social media and entertainment, I do love to see it function as it was originally intended.
If you have sharable teaching material, you can submit them to Merlot.org for review.
